- Trust your gut- If you feel like you can't trust a person...don't. Your instinct is your body's natural firewall, and it will prove you right every time. First impressions are lasting impressions; keep them in the FRONT of your mind.
- Beware of Wolves in Sheep's clothing...- You'll eventually meet those individuals who are all smiles and conversation but are speaking and grinning from a dark place. Rely on the first rule to weed those individuals out. Every smiling face is not a friend. If you think people don't operate with ulterior motives...think again;). Give a hater what he/she wants; the sound of your voice, the stroke of your keys, the sight of your face. Remember the only reason someone would hate you for no reason is because they want to be just like you!
- ...and Crabs in the Bucket- There will also be individuals who want to stagnate your growth in life. Jealous feelings about how you're progressing in your marriage, with your children, in your job or even within yourself will mold a hater's actions. Keep these individuals out of your personal business and remember that because they are opportunistic and lack in their own lives they want you to as well; they will use any means to try to make it happen.
- Decipher double entendres- I'm excellent at this. Start knowing what people actually mean when they say something. Read between the lines of shady individuals, and don't entertain idle chatter. Haters are leeches. They will suck what they can out of you; don't give them the opportunity.
- Go hard- If there is one thing, and there is only one thing, that a hater is good for is keeping YOU on your toes and motivating you to continue to be great and to better yourself. Who doesn't love to go against the grain and oppose the opposition. Turn the negativity a hater throws your way into positive reinforcement for yourself. Give 110% to everything and give HE/SHE something to talk about!
- Keep the focus on YOU- When I think of the word hater, or even just the haters I've come into contact with the following words come to mind...insecurity, dregs, weakness, prevaricators, serpents, WASTES!!! Continue to focus the attention on yourself and pay no mind to a hater. Realize that the problem they have with YOU is not really with YOU its with themselves, and they're just putting it on blast for you and EVERYONE else to see.
Wave "hi" to a hater the next time you see them. Inspire them to be a better individual. Keep the successes, people and situations in your life that you feel proud of strong. Exude your beauty, style, and intelligence with confidence, and feel sorry and compassionate for a hater. After all, they feel so bad about themselves they have to find another outlet to direct all that negative energy. You unfortunately just happen to be the recipient. Its all good though. Take pride in the fact that you and/or your life were just great enough to be targeted. So keep doing what you're doing, and you hater... you keep watching....LOVE!!!
